Garry Buckaloo

Gary is a native of Conroe, TX. He enlisted in the Navy in 1987 as a P-3 Orion Flight Engineer, retiring from the service in 2008. While there he was a bull rider with the Tri-State Rodeo Association from 1988-1991 . . . always a cowboy at heart, and he received a bachelor’s degree from Regent University. He is the Founder and Executive Director of Calvary Steel Ministries, a local 501c3 nonprofit, which provides GRACE Program scholarships to local combat and other veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, using both equine therapy through Henry’s Home and talk therapy through the Refuge Trauma and Counseling Center. Gary also provides follow-up courses and counseling for the veterans, teaching a program called Lifestyle of Recovery in Christ. He is the Senior Pastor at the Church of the Good Soldier and is the Chaplain at the Veteran’s Pod 7 in the Justice Involved Veterans in the V.E.T.S. Program at the Montgomery County Jail. He is married and, together with his wife Lisa, has nine children.
