Finance Committee, Vice-Chairman

I am a certified equine specialist, respiratory therapist, military wife, and mother of two beautiful children, Nolan and Jenna. We share our home with two dogs, two cats, and two horses. My love for horses began at a young age when my granddad bought me my first pony. I have always been a person who cannot drive past a pasture without slowing down, hoping to catch a glimpse of a horse. My husband, Jay, recently retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service. We chose to put down roots in the great state of Texas. We have moved all over the country and have had many trials and tribulations over the years, raising our children in the midst of multiple deployments. I feel blessed to be at a stage in my life where I can follow my heart and passion. It is my honor to spend time with these incredible creatures. Without a spoken word, horses teach us so much about trust, love, patience; and how to forgive and live fully in the moment. Working with horses has made me a better person. I feel a deep responsibility to ensure that these horses, and other horses that we rescue, will never suffer again. I feel blessed to be the director of the Horses and Heores program and work with our local veterans, first reponders, and their families.

Horses communicate what they feel, straight up, all the time, which means that to gain their trust, humans must be genuine, clear and honest. - Martha Beck
