Mr. Leo
Leo was named after Leonardo DiVinci, due to his beautiful confirmation resembling Leonardo’s pencil drawings of the perfect horse. He was originally purchased for $800 off of Craigslist, meant for an equine therapy program, but our Equine Director, Krista, fell madly in love with him when she went to meet him and ended up buying him for herself. He was so funny and had so much character, and he was the perfect size for her. She ended up using him for equine therapy for special-needs kiddos, taking many of them to the Special Olympics, winning many medals. He will always be Krista’s heart horse, and she was delighted to be able to bring him to Henry’s Home when she came in 2019, at age 17.
He is now retired to Henry’s Home and making friends with all the horses. He especially loves his time out on the trails. He is a left brain introvert, like Henry, and so needs a job. He is smart and curious and not afraid of hardly anything. We absolutely love having him in our herd, and are glad his mama can keep a close eye on him, but is willing to share him with us.
